You can continue to make hotel, dining or spa treatment reservations via phoneemail, or online. 
The PGA Golf Course, Academy Course, and Driving Range are open.

Visiting with Confidence, Guidance, and Good Practice
We have made the necessary changes to our operational procedures and are constantly reviewing the government guidelines, as well as actively seeking best practice advice from the hospitality industry bodies, such as UK Hospitality, the AA and PGA.
We are delighted to have been awarded the following accreditations via different new initiatives, created specifically to put your mind at complete ease when visiting us.

AA COVID-19 Confident

The AA has been trusted by the public as a source of hospitality ratings and recommendations for over 112 years. The new COVID Confident assessment scheme has been backed by the hospitality industry, with many high-profile trade bodies supporting the initiative. The AA checks that each business has the necessary measures in place for a safe visit.

Visit England’s ‘We’re Good To Go’ Initiative

We are proud to have been awarded Visit England’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ initiative, providing a ring of confidence and reassurance that Bowood have adhered to the Government’s and Public Health safety and guidance.


Hotel Guest Communications

Our pre-arrival email communications will provide additional health and safety information.
Guests will be required to complete a simple health check a few days prior to their arrival and confirm the details of their stay. At this time, we require your contact details including: email, telephone number, and address.
There will be extra signage around the resort to highlight the hygiene controls and social distancing that needs to be followed.
It is now a legal requirement that all visitors and guests wear a face covering in all public areas of the hotel.
On check-in, each guest/bedroom will receive a ‘one’ use welcome document, with updates on COVID-19 guidelines, as well as operational information.

We’re sure you will appreciate that we have had to make several changes to our arrival and departure information due to recent events. For example, we politely request that you pre-book Dinner in our Shelburne Restaurant in advance.
The Hotel Swimming Pool and Gym are open for hotel residents, for pre-booked slots of 55 minutes via Hotel or Spa Reception. The sauna, steam room and aromatherapy showers will remain closed for now.
Spa treatments are available to book via Spa or Hotel Reception.

Check-out – 11:00am
If you wish to pre-book a round of golf on our PGA course, please contact The Pro Shop who will be happy to arrange this for you.

Please note: there will be no resort literature or magazines in any of the bedrooms.

Enhanced Cleaning

We are operating new cleaning practices, based on the COVID-19 risk assessments and every team member has been trained using the new operational procedures.

  • Sanitising stations are located throughout the resort (including hotel bedrooms) and we ask that you use them when entering and leaving the hotel.
  • Regular cleaning of shared surfaces is being conducted throughout the day and night.
  • All bedrooms and public areas have COVID-19 Air conditioning filters installed.
  • We use a Corona Ozone Generator in each bedroom before use, which sanitises and purifies the air, killing bacteria during the 30-minute process.

Our Team plus Suppliers and Partners

Our Team:
All team members have been trained on the new health and hygiene procedures relating to COVID-19 and their responsibility to guests and colleagues. Reasonable steps have been taken to follow all the government guidelines:

All the necessary PPE equipment have been supplied to those team members who are customer facing and for those who wish to wear it out of choice and continue to wash their hands regularly for at least 20 seconds at a time.
Hand sanitisers are located at all staff entry points.
All staff are temperature checked as they enter the building and are required to confirm that they have not been in contact with anyone displaying COVID-19 symptoms.
Any staff showing any signs of infection will be asked to immediately leave the premises.
Operating procedures will be clearly displayed in all staff areas and social distancing will be implemented in all working environments.

Our Partners / Suppliers:
We are communicating and collaborating closely with all our suppliers and partners, to ensure all their policies and systems have also been updated to meet government COVID-19 guidelines.

We have a designated delivery area, which will be constantly monitored and sanitised. PPE will be worn by the delivery person and our staff when accepting deliveries.

The Resort's Facilities

Our PGA Golf Course is welcoming both members and guests with revised operational procedures and the team continue to follow all government and PGA recommended guidelines.

Bowood House & Gardens will reopen on 1st April 2021.

The Bowood Estate has almost 2,000 acres to explore and there are many walks to enjoy.

The Swimming Pool and Gym is open for hotel residents only via pre-booked 55 minute slots. The sauna, steam room and aromatherapy showers will remain closed. Spa treatments are available to book via hotel reception. A face-covering must be worn during spa treatments.

Social Distancing throughout the resort

The Resort’s Shelburne Bar & Restaurant, Library, and Clubhouse Brasserie have been re-arranged to allow safe social distancing between our visitors and guests.

The seating in our function rooms has been rearranged to meet the guidelines.
Where possible, we will create a one-way guest flow along the corridors, to avoid congestion.
Hotel guests will be encouraged to use the toilet facilities in their bedrooms during their stay.

Hotel Reservations and Revised Procedures

We have new technology procedures working alongside our current IT systems, to allow guests to communicate important details with us prior to their stay.

We have improved our arrival and check-in procedures to reduce paper and speed up the arrival process. Please note, you must have a valid reservation before entering Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort. We reserve the right to ask you to leave the premises if you do not have a reservation.

Food and Drink

We have revised our policies for offering Food and Drink in our Shelburne Bar and Restaurant, Library, Morning Room and Clubhouse Brasserie. As hotel guests you also have the option to dine in your room.

If you are not staying with us, you can still visit both the Shelburne Bar and Restaurant and the Brasserie, however, you must call in advance to book a table. We will ask you for your contact details and the names of your party.
Please note: We are unable to accept any walk-in visitors.
