Firstly, I would like to thank you for your patience over the past few months as we have considered the various challenges to enable us to safely re-open The Spa to our valued members. Thank you also to those members who completed our short survey at the end of July, this has given us a clear insight into your thoughts and expectations. With this in mind, I would like to share the following information with you, please see below.
We are delighted to confirm that we will re-open The Gym to our members only on Tuesday 1st September on a ‘pay per use’ system. Each Gym session will initially be available via 55-minute slots, at a cost of £8 per person, which must be booked online. Booking is now open for the month of September – slots are available up to 30 days in advance. Please click on the button below to book your slot.
Sessions will be limited to two people per 15 minutes to allow a safe flow into and around the Gym. There are two sessions per day (morning and afternoon) Monday to Friday and one reduced session on the weekend.
The Gym team have created eight safe workout stations, allowing a range of equipment to be used during the 55-minute session. There is a one-way system in place for safe arrival and departure.
There will be obvious changes to our normal procedures – so please see below for more details and revised opening hours.
GYM OPENING HOURS
Monday to Friday:
07:00am – 11:00am (last session time 10.00am)
16:00pm – 20:00pm (last session time 19.00pm)
Saturday & Sunday:
08:00am – 16:00pm (last session time 15.00pm)
o Each pre-booked Gym session is 55-minutes, charged at £8 per person, payable in advance online
o Access to the Gym is via timed entry, limited to two people every 15-minutes
o All reservations must be booked online (see link below)
o There are no changing room facilities or showers available, so we ask you to please arrive and depart in your gym clothes
o Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to your pre-booked slot
o All sessions booked and paid for are non-refundable and non-changeable
o You can book your session up to 30 days in advance
o Slots are only bookable online as we require you to complete our pre-visit health check in advance online
o We ask you to please ensure you clean your gym shoes prior to arrival
o Where possible, do not bring a gym bag with you – however, we do ask you to bring along your own water bottle and towel
o You will be responsible to sanitise your own workout stations with available sanitising sprays before and after use
o The Gym team will thoroughly sanitise the gym equipment after each 55-minute session
NEW BOWOOD TRIM TRAIL
During the past few months, the team have created a brand new Trim Trail in the grounds. With five challenging workout stations, the Trim Trail is situated in the wooded area towards the top of the hotel car park. The Trail can be used in conjunction with your pre-booked gym session. No booking is required for the Trim Trail, for more information, please speak to the Gym team on arrival.
Are the Changing Rooms open?
Due to the size of the changing rooms, we are unable to guarantee safe social distancing, therefore we are unable to open the changing rooms at this time. We ask that members please arrive and depart in their gym clothes.
Can I access the Swimming Pool, Sauna and Steam Room as well as the Gym?
Due to the challenges surrounding social distancing in the changing rooms, we are unable to open the Swimming Pool to members at this time. The Sauna and Steam Room remain closed. Some of you will be aware that we have re-opened the Swimming Pool to Hotel Residents – this has only been possible as guests are changing into swimwear in their hotel bedrooms as the changing rooms remain closed.
Can I turn up and pay for a Gym session without booking in advance?
No, we can only accept bookings for the gym in advance online. We are unable to accept bookings over the phone or via email, as we require you to complete an online pre-visit health check in advance of your arrival. Payment must be made at the time of booking.
If I am unable to attend my pre-booked appointment, can I change the date or receive a refund?
We are unable to offer a refund or change the details on any pre-booked appointments.
How many people will be present in the Gym during my pre-booked slot?
We are limiting access to 2 people every 15 minutes throughout the morning and afternoon sessions. There will only be a maximum number of 8 people in the gym at any one time.
Are the Personal Training Sessions available?
Initially, the Personal Training sessions will not be available, however, the Gym team will review this decision, based on requirements throughout the month of September. We will continue to keep you updated.
Is the Gym COVID safe?
The Gym team have set up 8 safe workout stations for use. Members can move around the stations during their 55-minute slot, however, we do ask that you are responsible for wiping down your own ‘station’ before and after use, using the cleaning products available. The gym’s air conditioning unit has been fitted with a COVID secure filter. The gym team are also on hand to regularly sanitise the gym throughout the day.
When will you re-open the Swimming Pool to Members?
At this point, as social distancing restrictions continue to dictate the use of our changing rooms, we are unable to give a definitive answer at this point. We will, of course, continue to regularly keep you updated.
Annual Memberships – when will you open the annual memberships for renewal?
We propose that the new membership year begins on 1st January 2021 through to 31st December 2021 – more information will follow in the coming months. Thank you for your patience.
