Recognising how garden visiting encourages well-being for mind, body and soul, Bowood’s 30-acre Woodland Garden will provide the perfect setting for Sunday 20th May’s ‘Wise Walk’, lead by wellness lifestyle consultant, Sharmila Dharmalingam.
Bowood’s unique display of rhododendendrons, magnolias and azalaeas will certainly heighten the senses. With just 15 places available, those participating in the one-and-a-half hour Sunday morning walk (starting at 10am).
Cotswolds-based mindfulness practitioner, Sharmila Dharmalingam will encourage walkers towards ‘Freestyle mindfulness’. As she explains, “Usually, mindfulness techniques are very focused and require great patience to learn. They can be pretty hard to adapt into everyday life. This is the key reason many fail to incorporate mindfulness into their hectic lifestyle.
“Bowood’s Woodland Garden is the perfect escape from daily pressures and during the walk I will share tips around a number of simple and easy-to-follow therapeutic techniques. The exercises I will recommend will help tackle stress and prompt real relaxation.”
Coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Week (14th-20th May), Sunday 20th’s ‘Wise Walk’ will also raise funds for The Mental Health Foundation by donating 20% of the ticket price of £15 per person.
