To coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week, Bowood is hosting Mindful Walks within the Woodland Gardens, 7th to 14th May, 9.30am to 10.30am with Linda Thomas from mindfulminds (www.mindfulminds.co.uk<http://www.mindfulminds.co.uk/>).
Improve your wellbeing, by paying attention to the present moment, to your own thoughts, feelings and the world around you, an awareness known as ?mindfulness?.
Connect with nature and come along for a guided mindful walk through the Woodland Gardens at Bowood. Wander slowly through the landscape, pausing, noticing and exploring the plants, flowers, trees along the way.? Looking up and noticing the breath-taking height of a tree you never noticed before, sensing and savouring, using all your senses ? sight, sound, smell and touch.? A pause by the pond, or a rest amongst the beautiful Rhododendrons, listening to the sound of the birds, whatever you feel drawn to, noticing as many pleasurable things as possible, slowly, one after another.
You will be introduced to short mindfulness practices that you can easily incorporate into everyday life.
?15 per person, which includes an hours guided mindful walk with the option to enjoy the Woodland Gardens at your leisure following the guided walk.
A charitable contribution will be made to the Mental Health Foundation.
