July 21, 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
New for 2020, enjoy a fascinating tour of Bowood’s spectacular gardens, with David Glass, Bowood’s Head Gardener for over 13 years.
This exclusive experience includes a 90 minute guided tour of Lord and Lady Lansdowne’s private walled garden with Bowood’s Head Gardener David Glass. Also included is general admission to Bowood House & Gardens, followed by a one course lunch served in the Stables Restaurant.
The Bowood gardens will be in full flow, with the herbaceous borders at their best. Bowood has approximately 250 meters of mixed shrub and herbaceous borders to view. The tour will walk the gardens with David discussing the various plants that work well, where they are planted and how they manage to achieve the best display. The borders have been designed to have a full season of interest from April through to October, which can be quite a challenge and David will discuss how the team work to ensure interest all year long. Within the walled garden, view the south facing vibrant ‘hot’ border and in contrast, the ‘Chinz’ borders with their strict colour scheme of white, cream, and lime green.
Maximum 15 people per group.
£30.00 pp includes a 90 minute guided tour with Head Gardener David Glass, plus admissions to the House & Gardens, and a one-course lunch.
