Relax and enjoy our selection of seasonal homemade produce from either The Stables Restaurant or The Treehouse Cafe.

Stables Restaurant

Located within the historic surroundings of Bowood House.

The Stables Restaurant will remain closed until further notice. 

Offering a variety of hot and cold dishes with vegetables and fresh fruit from the Kitchen Garden within Lord and Lady Lansdowne’s Private Walled Garden. Enjoy a selection of homemade cakes or a Cream Tea, served throughout the day.

Please note, you are required to pay the House & Gardens admission charge to access the Stables Restaurant. Reservations are encouraged for those in large groups and can be made by calling 01249 812102.

Treehouse Cafe

Located at the entrance of Bowood House & Gardens.

The Treehouse Café will only be serving takeaways until further notice. A facemask must be worn when in the Treehouse Café. 

Hot food is served until 4:00 p.m.  Housed in a lovely, light and airy building the café offers a range of sandwiches, paninis, wraps, sausage rolls, pasties, pies and jacket potatoes with a selection of fillings.


Ice-Cream Kiosk

Located within the Adventure Playground.

Conveniently located in the middle of the Adventure Playround, the Ice Cream Kiosk is open during school holidays and weekends only during the 2021 open season 1st April – 1st November 2021, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The Kiosk sells a selection of ice creams, drinks, confectionery and children’s outdoor games.

The Adventure Playground will open for the 2021 season from 12th April.


Enjoy a picnic in the beautiful grounds of Bowood House & Gardens.

Bring a blanket and your own picnic and enjoy the views across the ‘Capability’ Brown designed landscape. Picnic benches are located next to the Treehouse Café and in the Adventure Playground.

We regret that barbeques are not permitted anywhere within the Grounds including the car park.
