What’s On this Autumn

Autumn has arrived here at Bowood, and our Arboretum is awash with vibrant colour. Experience the bright crimson shades, majestic gold and burnished yellow throughout the pleasure grounds. A perfect Autumnal treat!

Join us this October half term, we have plenty to keep the children busy! Our Pumpkin Trail will start from the 19th October and will take you on an adventurous spooky fun walk throughout the Arboretum, looking for Pumpkins!

Take part in decorating your own pumpkin biscuit in the Treehouse Café (small charge), along with fun Arts & Crafts. Explore the grounds and see what wildlife you can see and how many pinecones and different coloured leaves you can find!

FACE PAINTING
On Sunday 23rd October there will be Halloween Pumpkin Face Painting taking place (a separate charge per child)

Pumpkin Trail

Wednesday 19th – Sunday 30th October.

Weave your way through the trees in the Arboretum following the spooky pumpkin trail. There are 8 pumpkins to find, good luck finding them all! Once you have finished the trail and completed your worksheet, hand it into Admissions to collect a tasty treat!

The trail is included in your Bowood House & Gardens Day Ticket and is complimentary to Bowood Season Ticket Holders.

Please collect a booklet on arrival at Admissions.

Why not dress up in your spookiest clothes?

Dress for the weather, please note the trail is in our Arboretum.

Fun with Arts & Crafts in the Treehouse Café from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

Wednesday 19th –  Sunday 30th October
Pumpkin colouring in sheets. Pencils available for children to decorate a blank pumpkin shape.

Saturday 22nd – Sunday 3oth October 
Pumpkin biscuit decorating within the Treehouse Café during open hours charge at £2.00 per biscuit, this can be paid on the day at the Treehouse Café.

Bowood House & Gardens opens at 11:00, with last admissions at 17:00, closing at 18:00.

After the Autumn clock change on the 30th October, last admissions will be at 16:00 closing at 17:00.

Autumn Menu in the Treehouse Café

Saturday 1st October – Tuesday 1st November

This Autumn in the Treehouse Café, you can enjoy delicious coffee syrups, warm panini’s, pasties and a themed cake selection.

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust

Friday 28th October and Sunday 30th October.

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust was founded in 1962, driven by a concern to protect local wildlife and natural habitats. They will have a small promotional stand, near the Treehouse Café. Pop along and see them while visiting Bowood and learn about the 40 nature reserves they manage across the county, including wetland, woodland, meadow and chalk downland habitats.

A Day Ticket will need to be purchased in advance before arrival, normal House & Gardens Admissions apply. The Pumpkin Trail and Arts & Crafts is included in the day ticket price and is complimentary for 2022 Bowood Season Ticket Holders.

A charge will accrue on the day if you wish to take part in the pumpkin biscuit decorating in the Treehouse Café during open hours, £2.00 per biscuit.

After the Autumn clock change on the 30th October last admissions is at 16;00 and Bowood closes at 17:00.
