In light of the rapidly evolving situation surrounding COVID-19, the Estate has been closely monitoring official advice to ensure that Bowood remains in-step with the latest guidelines. The health and well-being of Bowood’s loyal visitors and staff is our upmost priority.

Based on the latest information available, it is clear that short-term changes to our visitor operations have become necessary. With this in mind, the difficult decision has been taken that all areas of the House & Gardens including the Woodland Gardens will remain closed, initially for the period 1st April to 30th April.

This position will be regularly reviewed throughout April and further updates will be provided over the coming weeks. We will return to ‘business as usual’, once guidance indicates that this is appropriate.

The Woodland Gardens

Due to more recent government guidelines, we have now made the difficult decision not to open the Woodland Gardens on 1st April as previously indicated.

We appreciate that this announcement regarding the House & Gardens and Woodland Gardens will come as a great disappointment. The decision has not been taken lightly, however it is of course appropriate that Bowood plays its part in the national response to this public health situation.

 

Season Ticket Holders

In recognition of the current uncertainty as to how long the pandemic will continue, we can reassure Season Ticket holders that Bowood will honour any period of closure this season as a proportionate discount from any Season Ticket renewed for the 2021 season.

Our team remains focused on re-opening the House & Gardens once safe to do so, therefore we are not processing refunds on Season Tickets at this time.

Anyone who has purchased a day ticket for the 2020 season, or booked a group tour, will be contacted separately.
