We are incredibly proud to have won Silver in the ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ category at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2023.
Our General Manager, Jeff Condliffe and Lord Kerry collected the Silver award from Alex Polizzi on 7th June, at the prestigious UK tourism awards ceremony at the Warner Bros Studio Tour London.
The awards champion the very best of the country’s tourism industry, celebrating quality, innovation, best practice, and exceptional customer service – all of which Bowood has been commended for.

The awards help guests find special places where hosts go the extra mile, whatever the size, style or star rating of the accommodation, helping to put a spotlight on the likes of Bowood and bring prominence of its offering to a national audience.
It is an incredibly emotional and proud moment for me, as it recognises the brilliant team that I work with and the journey that we have been on over the past five years. From being shortlisted to becoming regional winners in the South West Tourism Awards, and then being named as one of the top three in England, is incredible and equally exciting.
With the resort located on the historic Bowood Estate, and having the support of Lord and Lady Lansdowne, it gives me the confidence to steer the business to even more success in the future, where we can explore improvements to make the guest journey even better.”
Bowood was up against the Titanic Hotel Liverpool, who claimed gold, and the Rockliffe Hall Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort in County Durham who picked up the bronze award.
