Golf Course Information
Bowood’s championship golf course near Chippenham in Wiltshire is set in 2,000 acres of glorious parkland. Renowned as one of the finest golf courses in Wiltshire and one of the best golf resorts in the South of England, Bowood is a simply beautiful place to play golf.
The course was designed by leading golf course architect Dave Thomas, and opened in 1992. Lord Lansdowne gave Thomas a free reign to use as much space on the beautiful rolling Bowood Estate as he needed but to avoid removing any well established trees. The result is stunning – a majestic course that winds its way through the landscape, incorporating natural streams, woodland, valleys and the many thousands of beautiful trees.
Bowood can provide a very stiff challenge when played from the back Purple tees at 7309 yards par 72, but all levels of golfer can enjoy the course with a range of less challenging tees further forward. The par 72 Gold tees come in at 6878 yards and the Silver at 6566 yards. Bowood also has a Par 70 scorecard for the Black men’s tees which come in at 6015 yards. The ladies’ tees come in at 6015 yards par 75.
