Wednesday 22nd November
Calne Choral has been entertaining audiences in the Calne area for more than 130 years and presently has over 80 members. The Society aims to mount 3 large-scale performances with full orchestra and soloists, often with international reputation, each year. In addition, a chamber choir undertakes short concerts in smaller venues. It is a friendly choir, meeting every Monday in Marden House, Calne for rehearsals.
Thursday 23rd November
St Mary’s Calne Chamber Choir
St Mary’s Calne Chamber Choir will perform a complete rendition of Benjamin Britten’s enchanting Christmas favourite, A Ceremony of Carols, accompanied on the harp by Jenny Broome. The choir sings regularly at concerts in school and in the surrounding area, with recent engagements at Salisbury Cathedral, Eton College Lower Chapel, and St Mary’s church, Calne. This term, the choir is singing in a live broadcast of BBC Radio 4’s ‘Daily Service’ programme on Monday 6th November 2017, in addition to its regular school commitments. Members of the choir will be joined by instrumentalists from the school on their tour to Krakow, Poland, in July 2018.

St Margaret’s Calne Chamber Choir
St Margaret’s is a thriving independent day school for boys and girls aged 3-11, sharing a site with St Mary’s, Calne. The Performing Arts have a high profile and there is a rich choral tradition throughout. The Chamber Choir is the school’s senior vocal ensemble and is delighted to support events both locally and further afield.
