We are delighted to welcome groups to visit and enjoy all that Bowood, in Wiltshire has to offer. Beautiful Bowood House has been home to the Lansdowne family for over 260 years. From a fascinating collection of historical artefacts to the beautiful “Capability” Brown designed parkland, gardens spanning every era of garden design and the remarkable Woodland Gardens, there is plenty to inspire and to see.
Standard Group Visit
Pre-booked group visits of 20 or more people can enjoy special admissions rates to visit the House and Gardens.
Bowood also offers group packages, which include guided tours and the opportunity to see exclusive areas of the House and Gardens. These can be combined with lunch or cream tea in the Stable Restaurant, located in the House to make it a full day out.

New for 2016 ‘Capability’ Brown Tours
Private Walled Garden Tours
Exclusive for groups are tours of Lord and Lady Lansdowne’s Private Walled Gardens. The tour commences on the imposing terraces overlooking ‘Capability’ Brown’s masterpiece landscape. You will then discover the Private Walled Garden which comprises of formal borders, picking garden, fruit and vegetables and glass houses.
During the six weeks from Late April to early June according to the flowering season, a separate Woodland Garden is open to visitors and can be combined with a visit to the House and Gardens.
This is a spectacular attraction offering breath-taking vistas of colour and beauty covering over 70 acres. This woodland oasis of azaleas, magnolias and rhododendrons is considered to be one of the most exciting gardens of its type in the country.
Catering Packages for Groups
Dedicated group catering can be provided in the Stables Restaurant for groups of 20 or more. We would be happy to arrange morning coffee and biscuits, a two course lunch or afternoon tea. Catering must be pre-booked at least two weeks in advance of your group visit.
Alternatively the Treehouse Café is open every day serving hearty hot meals and freshly made sandwiches as well as delicious cakes and biscuits from 10.30am to 6pm.

- For groups of 20 or more we can tailor your visit to your requirements and can arrange catering and dedicated parking for the disabled.
- To help you promote your visit we can send you leaflets as well as supply you with information and stunning images to use.
- Coach drivers receive complimentary access to Bowood House and Gardens and a lunch voucher to be redeemed in the Treehouse Café.
